The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been accused of teaming up with Nigeria's treasury looters to attack the federal government.
This was the position of the minister of information and national orientation, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, during an interview with Leadership newspaper.
Alhaji Mohammed also said the PDP is preventing Nigerians from hearing the positive developments made under the Buhari administration.

His words: “The opposition doesn’t want Nigerians to hear all these positive developments, that is why they have teamed up with treasury looters to recruit people to attack us ceaselessly. Good news is that discerning Nigerians know better.
“This administration is not unaware of the enormity of the challenges facing the nation, but we are up to the task. We have taken the bull by the horns, and long-suffering Nigerians will begin to experience a new lease of life as our efforts yield fruits.”
The minister also stated that it will be a tragedy for the PDP to return to power in 2019, accusing them of destroying the Nigerian economy.
He said: “I think it will be tragedy for this country for PDP to come back because they have not even apologise to the nation for how they had destroyed our economy, destroy our infrastructure, destroy our quality, and so far from their campaign, ask them how they will do it better when they get there.
“Apart from that, I think that our achievements will speak volume for us, we can come out and beat our chests that met an economy that was collapsing completely, and we revived it. We met external reserve of 23 or so billion dollars, and we grew it to 40 billion dollars.
“We created over six million jobs in the agricultural sector and we have been able to bring down inflation for 11 months consecutively. We have things to tell the world that we have done. We have taken on 25 million highways at the cost of N100 billion and as time goes on some of these projects are being completed and you begin to see a lot of difference.
“We were very categorical that we were going to address three areas of governance: we are going to fight corruption, we are going to fight insecurity and we are going to revamp the economy. I can say with all sense of modesty that we can beat our chest that we have delivered in all those areas.”
Meanwhile, Nigerians have been urged not to sell their votes for another four years of bad governance.
This was the position of a newly registered political party, Green Party of Nigeria (GPN) in a statement sent to NAIJ.com by its international media aide, Iyoha John Darlington.
Darlington, an expert in conflict management and resolution, argued that, “Nigerians had thought the historic merger that gave birth to the All Progressives Congress (APC) will be able to fashion out a new socio-economic nirvana for Nigeria but today although the visually impaired cannot see what is on the ground they can, at least, feel the impact of the abysmal failures of the Buhari-led federal government.”
