NAIJ.com gathers that the insider stated that the issue was avoided as the region's governors have not arrived at a unanimous decision concerning it.
According to the source: “Why the issue of cattle colony was not brought up as an agenda in the meeting was because the southeast governors have not taken any unanimous decision on that issue.”
Speaker of the Anambra House of Assembly and chairman of the conference, Mrs Rita Maduagwu, called for the establishment of the southeast legislative implementation committee as a means of promoting more robust synergy among the Houses of Assembly in the zone.
She further stressed that the conference was particular about implementation of laws which would develop the southeast zone and provide a means of livelihood for its people.
Maduagwu stated that in order to function effectively as the first arm of the government, the Nigerian legislative institution requires a serious reform; and called for financial autonomy for the various State Houses of Assembly.
