Manchester United are set to offer Zlatan Ibrahimovic a new contract at the club when he recovers from the injury he sustained last season.

NAIJ.com reported that the Swedish striker was officially released by the Old Trafford side following the expiration of his contract this summer.

The former PSG man was pivotal to the Red Devils campaign last term after scoring 28 goals in 51 appearances in all competitions.

The agile striker is currently rehabilitating himself at United’s Carrington training complex where he is working on his fitness.
Manchester United have already completed the signing of Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku which could be seen as Ibrahimovic's replacement.
