Following calls that the Niger Delta is asking for too much in resource control, Annkio Briggs who is an environmental activist has said that the region should control 100% and pay tax.
NAIJ.com gathered that Briggs speaking in an interview with the Punch said there are other resources in Nigeria and not only oil and gas.

She said others should also control whatever they have as resources.
On the perception of the Niger Delta on the issue of restructuring in Nigeria, Briggs said restructuring is the same as true federalism.
She added that restructuring is meant to empower the states to be more or less autonomous or semi-autonomous, politically, socially and economically.
"A state that does not control its security, but has to take directives from the centre before it can protect its people, will always have security issues. The internal security of a state is supposed to be the responsibility of that state," she said.
On what aspect of national development should restructuring emphasise, she said it should address the social, political, economic and cultural aspects of the people of Nigeria.
In a previous report by NAIJ.com Annkio Briggs lashed out at the current Nigeria structure that sees the north benefit more from allocation sharing.
Briggs noted that the north was at an advantage over the rest of the country due to having more states and local government.

She accused the north of bringing anything to the table while taking the lion share of allocations.
