Members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have continued to celebrate the Supreme Court judgement which sacked the former governor of Borno state, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, as the national chairman of the party.

NAIJ.com had earlier reported that the apex court on Wednesday, July 12, declared Makarfi's group as the authentic faction of the PDP.
The court’s verdict has sent PDP members across the country into jubilation mood as some of them described the ruling as a victory for democracy.
In Ekiti state, Lere Olayinka, the media aide to Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state, celebrated the sacking of Sheriff by drinking with friends.

Olayinka in a post titled: Drinking on the heads of Sheriff and his gang, said the victory was vindication of Governor Fayose for his rejection of Sheriff.

Also several members of the party took to the streets of Ekiti state to celebrate the victory as seen in a post by Bola Agboola.
Meanwhile, Nigeria's former President Goodluck Jonathan has congratulated the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on the resolution of its leadership tussle by the Supreme Court.
NAIJ.com gathered that the former president said the apex court's verdict is a judgment where there are no winners or losers, adding that it will bring the party together.
Jonathan in a Facebook post on Wednesday, July 12, called on members who had left the party because of its leadership issues to return and build the party .
Similarly, Ben Murray-Bruce, the senator representing Bayelsa East in the National Assembly expressed his happiness over the Ahmed Makarfi's victory at Supreme Court.
The Senator said the victory meant the nightmare was over, he howeevr added that there is no victor no vanquished.
