The chairman of the caretaker committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ahmed Makarfi has urged the All Progressives Congress to focus on restructuring its party rather than Nigeria.
Makafri said the APC seems to be confused about the arguments surrounding the calls for the restructuring of Nigeria.
Speaking in an interview with Daily Trust, the PDP leader said he wonders why the APC inaugurated a committee for the restructuring of Nigeria.

He added that more worrisome is the claim that the committee would be chaired by the governor of Kaduna state Nasir El-Rufai.
He said the powers to set up a committee for the restructuring of Nigeria lies on the Acting President Yemi Osinabjo.
He further said that the APC is a confused party that needs to focus on itself rather than Nigeria's challenges.

“Well, I can’t be sure because it is a party, it is not a government. APC cannot set up a committee for restructuring the country. They can set up a committee on restructuring their party. You see, that’s why I said APC is in confusion,” Makarfi said.
“If it is about the nation, I expect, we should expect the acting president to do it. The national chairman and the governor (El-Rufai) who is my younger brother with due respect, was on Channels TV saying that they didn’t believe in restructuring of the country.
The PDP leader while querying why the APC and El-Rufai will be interested in restructuring when they do not believe in it, said the party and its leadership are taking things for granted.
Speaking further on previous challenges in the PDP, Makarfi said lessons have been learned by party members.

He also said the PDP set up a reconciliation and disciplinary committee to ensure that every member is carried along.
He said: “We have a rich report which we would implement and which will enhance the entire democracy, bring back discipline, review and revamp our manifesto and communicate more with the people; let them understand us the more, they already understand us, but let them understand us more."
NAIJ.com reported that the APC set up a 10-man committee to help consider the party's position on the challenges faced by Nigeria.
The party in a statement said the committee would be headed by the Kaduna state governor Nasir El-Rufai while Senator Olubunmi Adetunmbi while serve as the committee's secretary.
