- The chieftain accused the party of not fulfiling its promises
- He said the party must reinvent itself
Alhaji Buba Galadima who is a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has said that the party does not deserve to be a political party.
In an interview on the Hausa service if the BBC on Wednesday, October 4, Galadima said he would have deregistered the APC if he was in charge of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
He expressed disappointment that the party could not hold a single Board of Trustees (BoT) meeting since it was formed.

He said: “APC does not deserve to be a political party; its constitution clearly states that the BoT, the National Executive Committee (NEC) and the National Working Committee must meet once every three months.
“Now, since the registration of the party, was there any time that the BoT met? The party never referred to its founding fathers to gauge their mood and to know their feelings on whether it is on the right track or not.
“I’m one of the nine people who signed the MoU for the establishment of APC based on certain agreements and ground rules. Sadly, none of these promises have been met and Nigerians cannot endure uncertainty anymore.”

The APC chieftain expressed hope that the party would reinvent itself and not necessarily around President Muhammadu Buhari.
He said: “I detest a situation whereby some people would hang the survival of APC on one individual; the party belongs to all of us, Nigerians. Politics and political power are transient and we must look ahead of time.”
Meanwhile, A non-governmental organization, Alimosho Youth Development Association of Nigeria (AYDAN) wrote an open letter to President Buhari on how the problems plaguing the country would be solved.
In an article sent to NAIJ.com, the President of the group, Comrade Ogungbade Olawale Lateef, congratulated President Buhari on the 57th Independence anniversary celebration, urging that all political office holders in the country should emulate the late heroes that fought for the country’s independence by making life meaningful to others.
