Barcelona were held to a goalless draw away at Greek giants Olympiacos in their group D match day four Champions League clash.
Lionel Messi toiled hard on the night but was unable to inspire his side to a win that would have seen them qualify from their group.

The first half had few chances; the most prominent being a deflected shot from Lionel Messi which was tipped to the post by Proto in the 21st minute.

The goalkeeper also denied Messi six minutes later from point blank range as the Catalans continued to pile on the pressure.
On the strike of half-time, Sergi Roberto was replaced by Gerard Deulofeu as the midfielder came off injured.
The first half ended goalless and second half did not get better.

Barcelona however still top group D with ten points from four games ahead of second place Juventus who have seven points.
In the other game of the group, Bruno Cesar scored in the 20th minute for Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon but Gonzalo Higuain equalized late in the second half to put Juventus level.
Juve second on the table while Sporting are third with four points in as many games.
