1. Local government area in Lagos State
Lagos State is split into two parts: mainland and the island with 20 local government areas. The state’s governor is Akinwunmi Ambode. The biggest local government in Lagos State and in Nigeria is Alimosho and its population is about 430,890 according to the 2006 Census and 1,756,500 as estimated by 2015 projection.
2. Local government area in Kano State
Kano State is located in the northern region of Nigeria. The state borders with another big local government in Katsina State on the north-west. The capital of Kano State is the city of Kano. The biggest local government is Nasarawa and its population according to the 2006 Census is 596,411 and 801,000 people according to 2015 projection.
