- Mrs Usman had disclosed she had cancer and needed to travel abroad to receive treatment
- She was arraigned alongside former minister of aviation Chief Femi Fani-Kayode by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission
A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos on Tuesday, December 5, has granted the former Minister of State for Finance, Mrs. Nenadi Usman, the permission to travel to the United States of America, USA, for medical care.
NAIJ.com gathered that Justice Rilwan Aikawa, who granted the permission also ordered that Mrs Usman’s passport be released to her to enable her travel to USA from December 18.

The former minister had disclosed to the court that she had cancer and needed to travel abroad for treatment when she asked Justice Muslim Hassan of the Federal High Court in Lagos to permit her to travel.
Mrs Usman is standing trial along with former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, and two others Danjuma Yusuf and Joint Trust Dimensions Nigeria Limited on 17 counts bordering on an alleged N4.9 billion fraud. They pleaded not guilty.
Justice Aikawa said Mrs Usman is to present herself for trial on the next adjourned date which is January 31, 2018.
In a previous report by NAIJ.com, Zamfara state High Court 5, sitting in Gusau, and presided by Justice Bello Tukur Gummi, on Tuesday, December 5, discharged former governor of the state Ahmed Sani Yarima over an allegation of diversion of over N385 million meant for the repair of the collapsed Gusau barrage.
In his ruling on the alleged diversion of the state funds brought against Yarima by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) Justice Gummi said the commission did not prove that he diverted the state funds.

Daily Sun reports that Justice Gummi said there are no evidences before the court over Yarima’s alleged diversion of the funds by ICPC.
