Premium Times reports that Ahmad Abba who is the Adamawa state director of the National Orientation Agency confirmed the new development in Yola on Tuesday, December 19.
He explained that the agency in collaboration with the office of the vice president had started the compilation of successful candidates for the second stage.
He said the compilation will commence from December 19 to 22 and that the exact number of successful candidates will be made public.
He said: ‘‘Initially, a total of 8,045 applied for the scheme in Adamawa for 2017/2018 programme and the candidates whose names were published had since been verified.”
Abba said successful candidates will be deployed to their places of work in January 2018 based on their areas of specialisation.
He said they had challenges with verification “as some candidates failed to differentiate between local government of residence and local government of birth.”
He said the programme has nothing to do with state of origin but state of residence.
The director also expressed optimism over the participation of women in the scheme.
Meanwhile, the Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government’s employment scheme, N-power, gave out instructions to its 2016 applicants on waiting list.
The development was made public in a tweet posted on the scheme’s official handle, @npower_ng, on Monday, December 18.
NAIJ.com notes that the scheme urged its 2016 applicants on waiting list to visit their local government area of residence between Tuesday and Thursday.
