The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), has disclosed that in the next 3 days, it is expecting up to five ships, each containing 50 million litres of petrol, Punch reports.
The national oil corporation made the disclosure on Wednesday, December 13.

NAIJ.com gathers that the move is in order to ensure adequate distribution of the product, to match demand and eradicate queues at filling stations nationwide.
NNPC further stated that the Nigerian Products Marketing Company, its downstream subsidiary, has increased the number of trucks moving fuel from its depots.
According to the NNPC, the number has now been increased to 1,300/day in order to address the shortage.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that fuel queues, which resurfaced in Abuja, the nation’s capital, on Monday, December 4, are gradually easing out.
A correspondent (with inspection team of NNPC and PPMC officials at some filling stations in the federal capital) on Wednesday, December 13, observed that while the queues were short in some stations, motorists drove through in other stations to buy the product.
