Senator Samuel Anyanwu who is the chairman of the Senate committee on public petitions, ethics and privileges has said his committee no longer regards Ibrahim Magu as the acting chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Anyanwu made the statement on Thursday, December 21, when explaining why the committee did not invite Magu over the massive petitions against the EFCC, the Independent reports.
“There are petitions against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission by some Nigerians, but my Committee does not see Ibrahim Magu as the Acting Chairman and that is why he was not invited, ”Anyanwu said.
Meanwhile, Dr. Ngozi Olojeme, the deputy chairperson, finance committee of the Goodluck Jonathan Campaign Organisation in the 2015 presidential election, has been arrested by operatives of the EFCC.
Olojeme had been declared wanted by the EFCC in June, for allegedly diverting N69bn from the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund, where she served as Chairman, from 2009 to 2015.

NAIJ.com gathers that shortly after her sacking by President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015, the suspect was said to have fled the country.
She reportedly finally reported at the anti-graft agency on Monday, December 18, and was detained afterwards.
