NUPENG drops bombshell, reveals those responsible for fuel scarcity finally exposed

- The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers has revealed those responsible for fuel scarcity

- The union said some individuals referred to as downstream sector’s cabal are responsible

- The union also said it is doing all within its power to ensure the prompt lifting of fuel across the nation

The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) has accused the some group of person in the petroleum industry of contributing to the fuel scarcity.

NUPENG alleged that a group it described as "downstream sector’s cabal" is responsible for the ongoing fuel scarcity across the country.

The union said its members in the Petroleum Tanker Drivers', PTD branch are working to ensure prompt lifting of products from all corners to every state in the country.

NUPENG's president, Igwe Achese said: “NUPENG is not responsible for the present shortage of petroleum products being experienced nationwide. “Our members in the Petroleum Tanker Drivers, PTD, branch of NUPENG are working and lifting products to the nooks and crannies of the country.”

NUPENG's allegation comes few days after the federal government gave marching others to the minister of petroleum, Ibe Kachikwu and the group managing director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Maikanti Baru.

NAIJ.com reported that Kachikwu promised that there is enough fuel to last Nigerians till January.

He also assured that the price of fuel will not be increased while calling on all motorists to remain calm.
