- About 1500 members of the PDP defected to APC on Friday

About 1500 members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos, on Friday, December 22, defected to the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The defectors, all from Oshodi-Isolo local government area of Lagos state were welcomed into the APC by Mr Olusola Sokunle, representing the party chairman in the Oshodi-Isolo LGA, Alhaji Olamide Kasali.
Sahara Reporters reports that the new defectors, led by a PDP chieftain in the council, Mr Fola Mosaku, and four councillorship candidates of the PDP in the July 22 council polls in the state, claimed they defected because of the good performance of the Lagos state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode.

Sokunle, receiving them, said: “APC is a party to belong to, where our political aspirations can be achieved. So, endeavour to frequently attend political meetings in your wards."
”Let us thank Governor Ambode for giving Oshodi a facelift. More projects are still on the way."
”The door is still open for other interested PDP members to join us.”

This defection is one in a number of defection from PDP to APC in the last few weeks. Recall that NAIJ.com recently reported that two days after a member of the House of Representatives, Raphael Igbokwe, defected from the PDP to the ruling party, APC, another member has defected.
Johnson Agbonayinma from Edo state, a member of the PDP announced his defection to APC on Thursday, December 21.
Agbonayinma is a member of the Ali Modu-Sheriff faction of the PDP before the leadership battle of the party was resolved by the Supreme Court.
