Stephanie Coker"s husband Olumide Aderinokun was arrested for fraud. Are the accusations justified? Find out the details of this intricate story in the article below.
We all remember the excitement that arose when Stephanie Coker married Aderinokun, a land developer. His brother was the late Tayo Adenirokun, founder of the Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB).
What is his offence?
According to The Guardian News, Olumide was arrested and prosecuted on 8 counts before Igbosere Magistrate Covert alongside Balogun Adeniyi Abdul-Vakil, a staff of New Town Development of Autocrity. He is suspected of forgery in the sales of a plot of land located in Lagos. In fact, this area is a property belonging to the Ben Oyekunle spouses.
“Purity” of Aderinokun’s reputation
This is not the first scandalous trial in which Aderinokun was implicated. In early 2016, some information about his suspicious activities made headlines.

In 2012, he also got involved in a scandal with Abdul-Vakil and some other accomplices. They created a fake Deed of Assignment document and used it for registration at the Lagos State Land Registry.
Judge's decision
Both suspects pled not guilty, insisting that they did not do anything fraudulent. However, the court did not believe their words. Olufolake Oshin, the head judge, ordered for the transfer of Aderinokun and Abdul-Vakil to Kirikiri Maximum Security Prison until 10 million Naira bail was paid on behalf of each of them. Their international passports and 2 sureties were also seized.
On February 2, 2018, further judgement on the case will be revealed.
Let's hope that Stephanie Coker husband will answer before the court and be punished to the full extent of the law if he is really to blame. If all this is just a misunderstanding, then an innocent man should not suffer.
