Joe Iniodu, the special assistant to the Akwa Ibom governor on media, has resigned his appointment.
According to Vanguard, Iniodu stepped down from his post due to what he termed irreconcilable differences with the administration of Governor Udom Emmanuel.

NAIJ.com gathers that a source with knowledge of the content of the resignation letter said one of the reasons cited by Iniodu was the recent political developments in the state.
The source reportedly stated: “Iniodu was said to have complained that as a media aide to the governor, there was an unwritten code that to be seen to have done well, one must abuse Senator Godswill Akpabio; a task he was not willing to lend himself to do.”
The source further reportedly added: “The former media aide was said to have told the governor that it would be against his conscience to work against Akpabio’s re-election as the senator representing Akwa Ibom north-west senatorial district.’’

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that unidentified gunmen suspected to be hired assassins, shot the former special assistant on electoral matters to Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom state, Mfon Udeme.
The former aide, who resigned from his post and defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in September 2018, was shot in the leg by the gunmen, who were said to be nine in number.
