German club Borussia Dortmund were unable to recover from the bomb explosion their bus suffered on Tuesday, April 11 as they were beaten 3-2 by Monaco in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter final tie.
NAIJ.com can report that the encounter was supposed to be played on April 11, but it was postponed due to the explosion that occurred in which one Borussia Dortmund player was reportedly injured.
Monaco had the chance to score the opener in the 17th minute when a penalty was given to the visitors, but Fabinho missed the spot kick.
Kylian Mbappe in good mood after scoring
Kylian Mbappe then scored the first goal for Monaco in the 19th minute before an own goal by Sven Bender in the 35th minute gave the visitors a 2-0 lead before the break.

Ousmane Dembele reduced the scoreline in the 57th minute, but Mbappe scored his second goal in the 79th minute to give Monaco another lead. An 84th minute goal by Shingi Kagawa could not save Dortmund from an embarrassing 3-2 defeat.
