An All Progressives Congress (APC) member in Imo state, Jones Onwuasoanya has hinted that some members of the PDP in the state are set to join the APC because of the recent decision of the Supreme Court concerning the authentic faction of the main opposition party.
NAIJ.com had reported on Wednesday, July 12 that the Supreme Court authenticated the Ahmed-Makarfi group as the legal faction of the PDP.
While many of the party chieftains have been calling for reconciliation after the apex court judgement, some of those loyal to Sheriff might be on their way out.

In a related development, Vanguard reports that the trouble in the PDP seems to be benefiting the APC as its members and leaders in Enugu state are crossing over to the ruling party The latest is coming from Enugu State where Barrister Amaechi Ozoemena and hundreds of his supporters jumped in the APC ship yesterday.
An Abuja based legal practitioner and a grassroots politician, Barrister Amaechi Ozoemena who reportedly played a major role in the victory of the PDP in the 2015 general election in Igbo Etiti local government of the state defected to the APC at an elaborate ceremony at his home town Ukehe.
According to the report, he was received by the state APC Chairman, Dr Ben Nwoye who handed over the party’s flag to him.
Ozoemena explained that the decision to defect to the APC was informed by the desire to contribute his quota in the new direction agenda of the ruling government which in his words would take Nigeria to the promised land.
Meanwhile, Sunny Onuesoke, a Delta state chieftain of the PDP, has taken a swipe at the APC over the Supreme Court judgement reinstating Ahmed Makarfi as the authentic leader of his party.
Onuesoke said Makarfi’s victory heralded the end of the APC’s hold on power; and members of the ruling party must be in pains over the judgement.
