- Nigeria army has changed the commandant of Nigeria Defence Academy (NDA)
- The new commandant is Maj Gen A Oyebade
- He took over from Maj Gen MT Ibrahim
Major General A Oyebade has assumed office as the 28th Commandant of the Nigerian Defence.
Until his recent appointment as commandant NDA, he was the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division Nigerian Army.

NAIJ.com gathered that the immediate past Commandant of the NDA, Maj Gen MT Ibrahim at the HQ NDA Loyalty Conference room implored the principal staff officers, officers, civilian staff, soldiers and cadets of the institution to accord General Oyebade the cooperation and support needed for him to succeed in his new tour of duty.

He used the occasion to thank the Chief of Defence Staff and the Service Chiefs for their support to the NDA.
The new NDA Commandant, Major General A Oyebade promised to continue with the good works already started by the out gone Commandant.

He equally used the occasion to thank the Chief of Defence Staff and the Chief of Army Staff for deeming him fit to command an institution as prestigious as the Nigerian Defence Academy.

He also solicited the support of the entire NDA community in the drive to making NDA the pride of Military Universities across the African continent. The highlight of the ceremony was the lowering and hoisting of the academy flag to signify the change of command.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had previously reported that the acting chief of accounts and budget, army, Brigadier General Jehadi Ezra Jakko, said that there is need for the federal government to initiate new sources of funding to halt the continually dwindling financial allocations to the Nigerian army.
