- Nesia Chido finished her law studies but still owed the university R53,000
- She applied for a cleaning job to start paying off the debt
- However, the job advertiser started a fundraiser to help pay it off
A Law student applied for a cleaning job to start paying off her outstanding fees but got more than she bargained for.
Nesia Chido had completed her studies when she made the application earlier this year. However, the university withheld her degree because she still owed R53,000.
Jeanne Pienaar, the owner of the business that posted the advert, was amazed by the fact that Nesia applied for a cleaning job even though she had qualified for a Law degree.

She invited her for an "interview" and got to hear her full story. Nesia told her that she often slept in the university library because she couldn't afford accommodation.

Jeanne resolved to help Nesia. During the interview, she told her: "We can’t offer you this position. We are however going to help you pay off your loan.
We will put the word out to all our clients and followers on social media and we will match whatever donations South Africans make, to pay off your outstanding student fees."

The fundraiser immediately went viral and within a short period of time, Nesia's fees were paid in full.
