The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has detained former secretary to the government of the federation, Babachir Lawal.
The Punch reports that Lawal was detained on Wednesday, January 24.

It was reported that the former secretary to the government of the federation was detained over alleged N223 million fraud.
Lawal reported at the EFCC office in the morning before he was detained by the anti-graft commission.
Samin Amaddin who is the spokesperson of the EFCC confirmed the arrest.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that President Buhari finally received the report of the Investigation Committee into the allegations against the former SGF, Lawal, and ex-DG of the NIA Ayo Oke.
The report was submitted by Vice President Osinbajo.
Lawal was accused of alleged corruption and mismanaging fund reportedly meant for the internally displaced persons.
He was sacked and the president appointed Boss Mustapha as the new SGF.
