A God loving 86-year-old grandmother has died after she allegedly fell into a church's pit latrine while trying to answer the call of nature in Kenya.
It was reported that Malika Guyato sustained serious injuries on Wednesday morning, January 24, while being rushed to hospital after she was pulled out of the pit latrine.
Report also has it that late Guyato's day started with morning prayer at a Catholic Church based in Hola town, Tana River county.

The late grandmother reportedly stepped out of church in the middle of mass to visit the private room, which is said to belong to the church.

Moments later, the church's security guard was heard screaming and yelling for help from outside, forcing the worshippers to abandon the sermon and head straight outside to find out what was going on.
Minutes earlier, the guard heard strange noise coming from the pit latrine and went to check. On closer inspection, he noticed some movement and discovered the elderly woman buried by human waste and slabs.
One of the church members identified as Jane Simon said they hurriedly trooped to the pit latrine to rescue late Guyato. Unfortunately, they could not pull her out of the filthy pit, forcing them to seek for help from Kenya Red Cross.
Red Cross rescue team arrived at the scene soon enough and was able to pull the deceased out of the pit. The granny was then rushed to Hola County Referral Hospital where they reportedly examined and gave her first aid.
Preliminary tests revealed that late Guyato had suffered fractured bones and ribs and dislocated arm. According to one Dr Fred Mokhano, the granny also had life-threatening internal bleeding.

They referred her to another health facility in Malindi for further medical attention, but the transport that was supposed to take her there reportedly took so long to arrive.
The deceased sustained injuries on the way to the next hospital as her family accused staffs at the county hospital for negligence but the hospital has denied the allegations.
