The minister of communications Adebayo Shittu was Wednesday, January 24, stopped from distributing President Muhammadu Buhari's reelection campaign caps at the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.
Daily Trust reports that Shittu, who put on the cap with the inscription 'Continuity '19: Muhammadu Buhari/Osinbajo', had brought a bag containing the bags for distribution to cabinet members.

It was learnt that the secretary to the government of the federation, Boss Mustapha, disallowed the planned distribution of the caps.

Shittu had Saturday, January 20, inaugurated the south southwest zonal office of Buhari/Osinbajo Campaign Organisation in Ibadan, Oyo state.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported that hours after former President Olusegun Obasanjo wrote a letter, advising President Buhari not to contest in 2019, a campaign fez cap calling for the president's continuity was used at the weekly FEC.
The fez cap with the inscription 'Continuity ’19: Muhammadu Buhari/Osinbajo', was said to have been sponsored and produced by Adebayo Shittu, the southwest campaign coordinator and minister of communications.
