- Arsene Wenger has stated clearly that Arsenal want to keep Frenchman Olivier Giroud
- Wenger stressed that the Gunners will only allow him to leave if they sign Aubameyang
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has explained that French striker Olivier Giroud will not be leaving the Emirates Stadium this month unless the Gunners sign Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Olivier Giroud has not started a Premier League game all season and fears he will miss out on this summer’s World Cup finals in Russia.
He has been linked with many clubs in the ongoing January 2018 transfer window in which Chelsea are also said to be interested.

“I have a consistent dialogue with Giroud and he can only leave if someone else comes in to the club.
“We have sold Alexis Sanchez and Theo Walcott this month so we would be losing too many players if Giroud goes with no-one coming in.
“Olivier has played many games in the Europa League and he has come on in the Premier League and scored some important goals for us.
“He’s an important player here who everyone has a high respect for and I want him to stay,'' Wenger was quoted by UK Sun.
