Brutality in the hands of unprofessional policemen is an ill faced by some countries in the world, including Nigeria. Tales of police brutality has been getting more popular in recent times as citizens clamour for a reform.
It is not new to hear stories of policemen killing innocent citizens without proper investigation, and that should not be the case.
A Nigerian lady, identified as Anita Akapson, was reportedly killed by policemen in Abuja on October 13.
According to reports from a friend of the deceased, identified on Twitter as Ms. Carla (@ihekauche), Anita was killed by the policemen after a verbal altercation ensued between them.

In reaction to the reports, the Nigerian police has responded via their Twitter page.
According to their tweet, the Inspector General of Police has ordered the arrest of the policemen involved as well as investigation of the case.
Jimoh Moshood, the police spokesperson in a statement on Monday, October 15, said the IGP had directed the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) commissioner of police, Bala Ciroma, to detain and personally investigate the policemen accused of killing the lady who was reportedly shot dead on Saturday night, October 13, at Katampe Extension, Abuja.
The statement disclosed that Idris also commiserated with the family of the deceased and assured them that justice will be done in the matter.
