The Peoples Democratic Party has appointed Senate President, Bukola Saraki as the director general of its presidential Campaign Council ahead of 2019 general elections.
The national publicity secretary of the party, Kola Ologbodiyan, made this known in his official twitter handle, @OfficialKolaO, on Tuesday night, October 15.
The tweet read: “PDP names the President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki as director general Atiku Presidential Campaign Council.

“HE Tambuwal is Zonal Coordinator for NorthWest. Dankwambo is Zonal Coordinator for NorthEast. Ortom Samuel is the Zonal Coordinator for North Central.”
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported that former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, won the PDP primary election to emerge as its presidential candidate for the 2019 presidential election.
In the election conducted on Saturday, October 6 at the party’s convention which took place in Port Harcourt, the former vice president defeated 11 other political bigwigs in the party.
He is expected to provide stiff competition to President Muhammadu Buhari who emerged as the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate.
In a related development, Atiku picked former governor of Anambra state, Peter Obi in Abuja, as his running mate for the 2019 presidential elections.
Obi arrived at Abubakar’s residence in Asokoro neighborhood this afternoon and both had undisclosed talks.
The former Anambra governor is widely speculated as the running mate to Atiku for the 2019 general elections. Several options have been suggested in the public domain, with the candidate being widely expected to choose from either the southeast or southwest.
