The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) recently announced Swedish football coach Thomas Dennerby as the new coach of the Super Falcons of Nigeria.
But since the announcement was made by the NFF, many Nigerian football fans have been wondering who the 58-year-old coach is.

1. He was a police officer
Before Thomas Dennerby started his professional coaching career, he was said to have joined the police force as a part time job which he handled for many years before he quit.
2. He never worked out of Sweden
Since Thomas Dennerby began his coaching career, the 58-year-old has never worked outside him home country Sweden, and handling the Super Falcons of Nigeria will be his first time of coming to Africa.
3. Thomas was an actor
New Super Falcons coach Thomas Dennerby also has little acting career in his resume as the Swede starred in a popular television series titled the “The other sport’ a documentary which debuted in 2013 and x-rayed the conditions of women’s football in Sweden from the mid-1960s till date.
4. A former footballer
Although, Thomas Dennerby never played for the Swedish senior men national team, but he played for the country's Under 21 team and spent most of his playing career at Hammarby IF and Sparvägens IF.

Dennerby played for Hammarby IF between 1977–1985 and for Spårvägens IF between 1985–1987.
5. He won Swedish manager of the year
In the year 2014, Super Falcons new coach Thomas Dennerby was named Swedish manager of the year in women’s football after winning the Swedish League title with Hammarby IF.
Earlier, NAIJ.com had reported how the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) announced that they have agreed an agreement with Swedish football coach Thomas Dennerby to become the next coach of the Super Falcons.
Super Falcons of Nigeria who are eight time African champions have been without a coach since last year that Florence Omagbemi was sent packing.
NFF also stated clearly on their website that Thomas Dennerby will be coming with an assistant named Jorgen Petersson.
