Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is positive that German star Mesut Ozil will extend his stay at the Emirates Stadium.
Mesut Ozil's contract at Arsenal will expire at the end of the ongoing Premier League season, and the former Real Madrid star has been linked with a move away from the Gunners.
After the exit of Alexis Sanchez at Arsenal, there are talks that Mesut Ozil is also considering leaving the North London club, but Arsene Wenger said the club want to keep the German.

"Our intention is to keep Ozil at the club. Hopefully, we will manage to do that very soon. Not close enough to be optimistic but not far enough to be pessimistic.
"The vibe I get from his commitment, focus and desire, he behaves like someone who is ready to commit.
"After that, contract negotiations are what they are. We aren't close enough to tell you yes, he will stay." Wenger was quoted to have said by UK Sun.

Earlier, NAIJ.com had reported how Premier League club Manchester United gave their manager Jose Mourinho the green light to sign Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil during the January 2018 transfer.
Mesut Ozil's contract at the Emirates Stadium will expire at the end of the ongoing Premier League season and he will will be available on a free transfer should he refuse to sign a new deal this month.
Arsenal are trying to make sure the German midfielder extend his stay at the North London club, but the former Real Madrid man has refused to commit his future to the Gunners.
