The special adviser to Governor Akinwunmi Ambode on commerce, Deji Tinubu, is reported to have slumped and died while playing a football game in Lagos state.
The Punch reports that the incident occurred on Thursday evening, January 25, during a novelty match in the Epe area of Lagos state.

Tinubu was said to have slumped on the field and was confirmed dead at a hospital in Epe.
NAIJ.com learnt that the aide, who was the former chairman of Lagos state Sports Commission, with Lagos state Executive members and other top government functionaries were in Epe for a retreat when the incident occurred.
Meanwhile, Lagos state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, on Tuesday, January 23, threatened to ban the activities of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in the state if the union's leaders fail to stop the violent activities of their members.
At the end of the security council meeting in Lagos, the state government ordered the immediate suspension of all NURTW activities in Lagos Island following the crisis rocking that chapter of the union.

According to the state's commissioner of police, Imohimi Edgal, the decision is to forestall any further breakdown of law and order and ensure that the peace in the area is not hampered, Premium Times reports.
NAIJ.com gathered that while urging members of the NURTW in Lagos Island to comply with the directive, Edgal said that government would not hesitate to totally proscribe all union activities if members continue to disturb the peace in the area.
