NAIJ.com gathers that the faction would subsequently present flags to candidates for the forthcoming local government elections at a rally scheduled to hold in Bichi town on Sunday, January 28; another such rally would take place on Monday, January 29 in Gwarzo; and in Kwanar Dangora, on Tuesday, January 30.
The Ganduje faction will hold rallies till Thursday, February 8.
Among the defecting members of the opposition party who would be received by the governor’s faction, are former members of the House of Assembly and local government leaders.
Senator Lado, a close ally of Governor Ganduje, was defeated by Kwakwanso at the upper legislative chamber; and is reportedly making the move to the ruling party in order to re-contest for a seat in the upper legislative chamber in 2019.
In similar fashion, ahead of the local government elections, the Kwakwaso faction is also set to hold a rally on January 30. The rally is in honor of the former governor.
According to reports, there is tension in Kano state at the moment, as to whether the rallies to be held by the two factions would be peaceful. This is because there have been bloody clashes between both factions in times past.
