Two senior officials of Imo state government are reportedly currently battling for the endorsement of Governor Rochas Okorocha ahead of 2019, one his son in-law, Uche Nwosu and the other his deputy, Prince Eze Madumere.
The Vanguard reports that the two alleged contenders may have entered a battle of wits to get the endorsement of the governor and party leaders to run on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The report said Nwosu already has the endorsement of his Nkwerre local government as well as that of Ikeduru, which is a part of the federal constituency of the Deputy Governor Eze Madumere.

According to the report, Nwosu was endorsed by some members of the APC.
The leaders who endorsed him include Charles Amadi, Ifeanyi Opara, Obinna Nshirim and Edward Ihejirika, among others.
On the other hand, the deputy governor is said to have the endorsement of his party members in his home town, Achi, Ezi-Mbieri in Mbaitoli local government area, and that this was spearheaded by a chieftain of the party, Marcellinus Nlemaigbo, as well as the chairman of the transition committee, Steve Odoemena.

NAIJ.com learnt that Okorocha’s son in-law also has the endorsement of the Ugwumba Movement, while that of the deputy governor also has loyalists from the Madumere Fans Club.
NAIJ.com earlier reported how the APC southeast leadership recently endorsed Rochas Okorocha as the leader of the southeast zonal campaign council of President Muhammadu Buhari’s 2019 re-election bid.
This was stated as the outcome of the party’s meeting on Sunday night, January 21, at the Abuja lodge of the Imo state governor.
