Kemi Adeosun, Nigeria's minister of finance, has said that plans are on ground to increase the salary package for the staff of Nigeria Custom Service (NCS), Daily Trust reports.
NAIJ.com gathered that Adeosun who was represented by the director of home finance, Olubunmi Bola made the remark at the NCS celebration of the 2018 International Custom Day held in Abuja tagged "A secure business environment for economic development".

"Working tooth and nail to ensure that the salary package for the service is increased and allowances are paid," she said.
The NCS is an independent government unit, that is a part of the Nigerian Ministry of Finance, responsible for the gathering of customs revenue and organization of anti-smuggling efforts.
It was created in 1891, but the activity of this agency has not lost its relevance at all.
NAIJ.com previously reported that the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Seme Border Command, intercepted 2,200 jerry cans of smuggled petrol with a Duty Paid Value (DPV) worth over N10 million between December 1, 2017, to date.
The area controller, Comptroller Mohammed Aliyu, disclosed this on Monday, January 22, through the command’s chief public relations officer (PRO), Taupyen Selchang.

The controller in a statement by the PRO said that most of the seizures were made at Pashi-Yekeme Community in Owode and the creeks.
