A Nigerian woman identified as Kutsuwe Kwembe who recently clocked 105 has urged Benue state government to provide assistance to victims of flood in Makurdi.
The old woman, who is currently taking shelter at a displaced persons camp in Makurdi, noted that the flood is the third disaster she experienced in her lifetime.
According to her, before the August 27 flood in Benue state capital, she also experienced a flood that occurred eight years ago around Gyado Villa.

In 2012, she was also a victim of the flood caused by the opening of Lagdo Lake Reservoir in Cameroon.

Kwembe further noted that the August 27 flood destroyed some of her properties and flushed the rest away.
It was gathered that the old woman was visited by Eunice Ortom, the first lady of Benue state.
According to her daughter who is over seventy years old, the governor’s wife prayed for her mother during the visit.
She said: “The governor’s wife was here, but she just prayed and left.”
