Chelsea coach Antonio Conte says he is 'pleased with the commitment' from his player in their lethargic 1 - 0 home defeat to Pep Guardiola's Manchester City.

Despite seeing his players outrun and outclassed tactically, the Italian says he his happy with how the players committed themselves to the cause.

He also blamed scheduling of the clash which came just three days after a gruelling Champions League win at Atletico Madrid in midweek.
He said: "We gave everything today, I'm happy with the commitment from my players. They had the will to fight against a strong team."
"It is logical when you play three games in seven days you risk something. I hope it is not a serious injury for Morata."

Conte also revealed that bringing on Willian for the injured Alvaro Morata was simply a tactical decision.
The defeat leaves the Blues fourth with 13 points on the tables after seven games. They have played one ahead of Watford and two ahead of Liverpool.
