A former senior special assistant to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan on public affairs, Doyin Okupe, has emerged the new south-west leader of the Accord Party (AP).
Okupe was appointed the leader of the party's south-west region at the launching of the state secretariat Ita-Oshin, Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital on Wednesday, September 6.

In a Facebook post, Okupe was sighted with other members and dignitaries of the Accord Party.

These individuals include: the national chairman of the party, Muhammad Lawal Nalado; the party's board of trustee's chairman, Isaac Adeniyi; the south-west chairman, Kayode Ojo among many others.

Okupe in his post said he was quitting the party but will be back later.
The spokesperson to the former president said the PDP had been embroiled in series of factional internal crisis brought upon itself.
