Nigeria soldiers were called to action after suspected armed bandits launched a deadly attack in Tsafe, Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
According to Brigadier General Sani Kukasheka Usman, who is the director of army public relations, the attack was carried out on Thursday, September 21.

One of the bandits was killed while some of their weapons were recovered.

A personnel of the Federal Road Safety Corps was however killed by the bandits before the arrival of the soldiers.

Troops of 223 Battalion, 1 Division Nigerian Army, on Thursday thwarted efforts of suspected armed bands that besieged Tsafe, Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State to cause mayhem on Thursday 21st September 2017.

The troops on receipt of information about the presence of the armed bandits, mobilized immediately, moved to the area.

They killed one of the armed bandits and recovered 2 AK-47 rifles, 6 magazines and 7 motorcycles.
Unfortunately, a personnel of Federal Safety Corps (FRSC) was killed by the marauders before the arrival of the troops.
Meanwhile, no fewer than 15 people were reportedly killed on Monday, September 18 when two sui*cide bombers struck civilians receiving aid in Borno state, a rescue worker and a member of the civilian militia told AFP.
“There were twin sui*cide explosions at 11:10 am in Mashalari village (near Konduga), which killed 15 and left 43 others injured,” a rescue worker said in an account backed by Babakura Kolo, from the Civilian Joint Task Force.
