Chief Emeka Offor, a former top financier of the former ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has allegedly gone broke, Premium Times reports.
Offor, who reportedly got some of the juiciest contracts when the PDP was in power, is said to have donated N200 million to the Obasanjo/Atiku presidential re-election campaign in 2013.

However, just two years after PDP left power, Offor has indicated that his fortunes have changed for the worse.
Since the All Progressives Congress (APC) came into power, Offor’s main cash cow, Chrome Oil, has suffered a downturn.
Offor’s staff members have taken him to task over outstanding salaries and allowances.
In a letter signed by their lawyer Femi Falana, on their behalf, the aggrieved workers stated that they were been owed salaries and wages, extending form August 2016 to September 2017, to the tune of N1.14 billion.
They warned that if “immediate steps” were not taken by Mr. Offor within seven days, legal action would be taken.
The letter was dated August 16, 2017.
In response however, Offor stated that his “businesses suffered frustration commencing from March 2015 and grounded to a halt in September 2015”, and blamed the “general economic meltdown and recession” for his company’s inability to meet its financial obligations to employees.
According to Offor, Chrome Oil had “no job to execute and closed office starting from September 2015”.
After losing out to Muhammadu Buhari-led All Progressives Congress (APC), the PDP-led government which Offor greatly benefited from, left power in May 2015.
In addition to Chrome Oil, Offor’s other company, Global Scan Systems Limited, is also in financial distress.
According to employees, they have not been paid for two years, and their terminal benefits have remain unpaid.
Offor is now locked in a heated legal battle with the aggrieved staff at the National Industrial Court.
