Tragedy struck five sons of the Ubiaro family based in Birmingham when they lost their father in the early hours of Monday September 4.
This came few weeks after the children lost their mother to same illness of bowel cancer.
The wife, Makeda Ubiaro, passed on at the age of 38 on July 29, after being diagnosed of the disease August 2016. She could not be saved by the emergency surgery conducted on her.
The husband, Omena Ubiaro, had been battling with the illness for over three years before he lost the battle at an hospice in Wolverhampton. Omena was diagnosed with Stage 4 colorectal cancer in 2014.
He died a day before his wife’s funeral.

Omena, in grieving for his wife, had planned on raising money to take care of his five children in the final weeks of his life. He had created a GoFundMe page that has raised almost £23,000 in the last month.
A family friend, Charles Busari broke the news of the demise of Omena saying ;
‘It breaks my heart to report that sadly our dear brother Omena has lost his fight to cancer at the early hours of Monday September 4.
‘I would like to offer a heartfelt “THANK YOU” to everyone who have contributed so far financially, with prayers and with words of encouragement.
‘Unfortunately our worst fears have been confirmed and we now need your donations now more than ever to support the children. No amount is too small as a little streams make mighty Oceans.’
A heartbreaking video filmed on August 16, a weak and bed-bound Omena said: ‘Thank you so much to everyone that’s been supporting myself and my family.

‘Myself and my five boys, we’ve just lost my wife, they’ve lost a mother, and they’ve also lost their best friend as well.’
‘I know at times people say “be strong, be strong, be strong”, but sometimes guys, it’s tough.
‘Where do I find that strength from? I cannot lie. It has been the toughest thing that a husband and a father has ever had to face,’ He said
