Sule Lamido who is the former governor of Jigawa state has warned politicians not to engage in blackmail and hatred ahead of the 2019 presidential election.
Vanguard reports that the former governor who has been touted as a potential candidate for the 2019 presidency said blackmail would not help the existing democracy in the country.

The former governor who spoke in his Bamaina, Birninkudu Local Government Area country home in Jigawa State also lashed out at former vice president, Atiku Abubakar for statement allegedly credited to him that he made against the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
He said: “Atiku is entitled to his opinion like any other Nigerian.”
“Some people, especially politicians, should not be condemning others with different political ideology, interest or opinion.”
The PDP also lashed out at the APC saying the party has demonstrated that it cannot rule Nigeria again.
“There is no way Nigerians can be convinced again on falsehood, as in the past, to vote APC for second term in office because APC doesn’t know administration at all.”

Meanwhile, the Northern Elders Forum (NEF) weighed in again on the controversial issues of restructuring the country, and disclosed what it would not accept, Vanguard reports.
According to the group, while they acknowledge the persistent calls for Nigeria to be restructured, they would not be stampeded into adopting a grand design from other regions, which would not be in their best interest.
