Argentina stand the risk of missing out on qualification for the 2018 FIFA World Cup after struggling to a 1-1 draw with Venezuela on Wednesday, September 6 in Buenos Aires.
A second-half own goal from Venezuela defender Rolf Feltscher under pressure from Inter Milan's Marco Icardispared Argentina’s blushes after the visitors had taken the lead through Jhon Murillo.
The result left Argentina in fifth place in the South American standings with 24 points from 16 games and out of the top four automatic qualification places.

With just two games left, the fifth place team faces a two-leg playoff against Oceania giants New Zealand.
In other matches Brazil, who have already qualified, drew 1-1 with Colombia as Willian's volley was cancelled out with Radamel Falcao's header.
Uruguay moved up to second after beating Paraguay 2-1 while Peru beat Ecuador by the same scoreline to move up to fourth.

Sixth-placed Chile lost 1-0 to Bolivia but remian one point behind but remain one point hehind Argentina.
