- One Salami Oluwatobi Peter has been arraigned before a magistrate court by the SCIID for impersonating the Oba of Lagos to carry out a N15m fraud
- Salami pretended to help the victim acquire a slot at the proposed Lekki Free Airport Investment by falsely claiming to be Oba Rilwan Akiolu
- The presiding magistrate adjourned the matter till October 16 for further hearing, after granting the suspect bail to the tune of N2m
The Lagos state Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) Panti, Yaba, has arraigned one Salami Oluwatobi Peter for impersonating the Oba of Lagos to perpetuate a N15m fraud.
According to reports, Salami and others now at large were accused of conniving together to obtain the said sum from one Moriselade Ajoke, via fraudulent means.

NAIJ.com gathers that they reportedly pretended to assist her in acquiring a slot in the proposed Lekki Free Airport Investment; and Salami falsely presented himself as though he was Oba Rilwan Akiolu, who is the custodian of the said Airport Investment.
Afterwards, the defendant stole the money from the victim.
The crime was reportedly perpetuated at 8, Olokonla Street, along Ajah, in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos.
Inspector Adebayo Oladede, the prosecutor, stated that the offences were punishable under sections 409, 312, and 380(1) of the criminal law of Lagos state as (amended).
The suspect was thereafter granted bail to the sum of N2 million with sureties in like sum, by the presiding magistrate, Mrs. A. O. Ajibade, after his lawyer pleaded for bail.
The matter was then adjourned till October 16 for further hearing.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that officers of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Lagos state Police Command arrested four suspects for allegedly defrauding residents of the state.
According to the RRS, the four suspects were arrested in three separate incidents of fraud in Maryland, Ojodu Berger and Ajegunle.
