Premium Times reports that the Army’s declaration followed the conclusion of a one-day tour of the region by the chief of Army staff Tukur Buratai.
NAIJ.com had reported that the Nigerian Army kicked off Operation Python Dance around the middle of September to curb activities of IPOB and other extremist groups in the south east.
Despite clashes with IPOB members and widespread condemnation from Nigerians, the Army continued with the operation in which it has now declared victory.
