Signs that former governor of Kano state, Dr Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, is serious with his alleged ambition to contest the 2019 presidential election have surfaced with his posters flooding Dutse, the capital of Jigawa state.
The Sun reports that residents in the northern town woke up to see posters and billboards with the inscription: ‘Kwankwaso for President 2019 Insha Allah’.

The posters were reportedly also pasted on vehicles and poles in the town.
The report indicated that the posters may have been pasted by Kwankwaso’s soaring supporters as well as the belief that President Muhammadu Buhari may not want to see re-election in 2019.
NAIJ.com earlier reported that some top northern politicians including former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, and ex-governor of Jigawa state, Sule Lamido, are also contending for the seat.
Alhaji Ishaq Hadejia, a top staff of the Jigawa Television who coordinates the Kwankwaso movement in the state, reportedly said the former governor was gaining more support because the youths have more belief in him ahead the 2019 election.
“I can categorically assure you that Kwankwaso has already wooed the hearts of many of the All Progressives Congress (APC) youths across the state.

“And the interesting part of this movement is that, this man does not use his personal money to fund it, rather it is these new revolutionised crop of youths that have dedicated their time and resources for his sake,” he was quoted as saying.
NAIJ.com earlier reported that there was palpable anxiety in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) following the rumoured defection of Rabiu Kwankwaso, a former governor of Kano state, to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
It was learnt that the PDP had been speaking with Kwankwaso to return to its fold and were anxiously waiting for his next move.
The Nation reports that Kwankwaso confirmed on Tuesday that he was still in the APC.
