- The NNPC has said that 13 countries have not bough crude oil from Nigeria since 2016
- A report by the corporation said 948,000 barrels of Nigeria’s crude made its way into Portugal as at May 2017
- The report also said India has bought the highest amount Nigeria's crude oil with 136.5 million barrels between May 2016 and May 2017
A recent report by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation has said that 13 countries have not purchased Nigeria's crude oil since 2016.
The report, Crude Oil by Destination, which was recently released by the corporation said Poland, Columbia and Uruguay have not bought oil from Nigeria for the past three years.
The NNPC report also said that Cape Verde has not bought oil from Nigeria since November 2016 while Cotonou, Tunisia and Lome have not purchased crude from Nigeria since April 2016.

Also, Taiwan, Japan, Croatia, Norway, Turkey and Ireland have not purchased crude oil from Nigeria since April 2016.
It was also gathered that two countries - Portugal and Denmark - which stopped buying oil from Nigeria in 2016, resumed purchase.
The report also said that 948,000 barrels of Nigeria’s crude made its way into Portugal as at May this year while Denmark received 996,079 barrels as at March 2017.

Meanwhile, the report noted that India had bought the highest amount Nigeria's crude oil with 136.5 million barrels between May 2016 and May 2017.
But in Africa, South Africa bought the largest share of Nigeria’s crude, getting 42.4 million barrels between May 2016 and May 2017.
It was also gathered that Nigeria’s export to East Asia was boosted by the resumption of import by Malaysia.

Malysia was said to have bought 1.9 million barrels of Nigerian crude in January 2017 but didn’t purchase it again until May when 948,000 barrels of Nigerian crude were shipped to the country.
NAIJ.com earlier reported that Nigeria overtook Angola to reclaim its position as Africa's top producer of oil.
The feat by Nigeria came after Angola had held onto the position for seven months.
Angola had led with 1.7 million barrels produced per day which was above Nigeria’s 1.5 million barrels.
