UNIBEN convocation 2017 will take place on the 22nd November. 9,993 students who graduated from this educational institution will be awarded with various diplomas and academic degrees. This is the 43rd edition of the event and the university's 47th anniversary. Keep reading to learn more.
Graduates who completed their degrees in 2015 and 2016 will be awarded and celebrated. This development was confirmed by Faradey Orunwense, vice-chancellor of UNIBEN when he described the program of the event.
Graduates of the University of Benin are distributed as follows:
- 1st Class - 100 students;
- 2nd Class Upper - 1,843 students;
- 2nd Class lower - 4,607 students;
- Third Class - 1,351 students;
- Diploma holders - 188 students;
- Post Graduate - 152 students;
- 1,120 Masters degrees will be granted;
- 102 Ph.D. holders will also be honoured at the event.

In addition to the ceremony, large-scale conferences, exhibitions, opening of various promising projects will be overseen by the vice-chancellor.
Also, attention will be paid to Prof. Grace Alele-Williams, the first woman in Nigeria to take the post of vice-chancellor. This delightful lady made a great contribution to the development of the educational sphere and brought it to an international level.
In addition, Dr. George Osemwegie Agbonlahor will be celebrated as an outstanding leader, who contributes to the continuous development of the Nigerian education.
