It is no longer news that Kaduna state governor, Nair El-Rufai plans to replace about 22,000 unqualified teachers to save the future of the next generation, after thousands had failed a primary 4 exam.
While some have applauded the move, others have frowned at it, implying that the Kaduna state government is being inconsiderate.
Despite the opposition to the move the sack the ‘unfit’ teachers, El-Rufai said there is no going back as the state government has started receiving applications for the 25,000 teachers to be employed.

A Twitter user identified as Adamu Hayatu, on Thursday, November 16, shared a broadcast message sent on whatsapp by the spokesperson of the Kaduna branch of the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT), which was reshared by the state governor on his Facebook page.
NAIJ.com previously reported that the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) faulted President Muhammadu Buhari for endorsing the laying off of about 22,000 teachers in Kaduna state.

The general secretary of the NUT, Dr. Mike Eneh, on Monday, November 13, in Abuja said that rather than layoffing teachers under the guise of having failed a competency test, a retraining programme ought to have been organized to boost the quality and efficiency of the teachers in the state.
