Sahabi Mahmud Tukur, the chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders’ Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), has refuted reports that claim Fulani herdsmen plan to attack Mambilla in Taraba state.
NAIJ.com gathered that Tukur in a chat with newsmen on Monday, November 13, in Yola, Adamawa state, after a crucial meeting with North-east officials insisted that the allegation that Fulani were recruiting foreigners to invade Mambilla was not true.

The chairman said this in reaction to Taraba state governor, Darius Ishaku’s request for troops deployment during his visit to President Muhammadu Buhari.
He said: “The claim is entirely false, mischievous and the figment of wild imagination which is aimed at causing restiveness, fear among and intimidation of the peace-loving people of Taraba State.
“We want to categorically tell the people of Taraba State and all Nigerians that the Fulani have never and will never attack anybody and will seek redress in court of law.
“Even this shall be as a last resort as the Fulani believe in the rule of law and will continue to rely on the law to protect them.”
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that the newly enacted anti-open grazing law has been described as a time bomb by the umbrella group for Fulani herdsmen, Miyetti Allah Kautal Ho*e, The Cable reports.

The development was made public by the group, at a press conference in Kaduna on Monday, November 13.
The national president of the association, Abdullahi Bodejo, and Sale Alhassan, its secretary, stated that the law is an attempt to destroy the means of livelihood of the herdsmen.
