The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has started distributing sensitive materials for the Anambra state governorship election billed for Saturday, November 18.
NAIJ.com correspondent on ground in Awka, observed the movement of the materials from the INEC office at the state capital, to various local governments.

The materials were escorted by heavily armed security personnel, alongside local and international observers.

The materials were marked serially and were being sorted according to each local government by the electoral commission staff under the watchful eyes of the observers.

NAIJ.com checks revealed that the materials arrived the state on Thursday, November 16 via the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu.
Sources in the INEC office, Awka told NAIJ.com that the materials were escorted like money to Awka by the Central Bank escort team.
NYSC members are serving as INEC adhoc staff for the election
NAIJ.com also observed dozens of luxurious buses lined up close to the INEC office said to be for distributing the materials and transporting INEC staff and adhoc staff to their various postings.
Hundreds of National Youth Service Corps members are also working as adhoc staff for INEC to ensure the electoral commission have enough hands to effectively deliver a free and fair election.

Meanwhile, a group of Anambra state elders under the aegis of 'Concerned Anambra State Leaders' have written an open letter to President Muhammadu Buhari alleging plans by his party - the All Progressives Congress (APC) to compromise the outcome of the state's election.
The letter seen by NAIJ.com, alleged that there are plans by some APC stalwarts both at the state, zonal and federal levels to rig the forthcoming election in favour of the party.
The group also indicted several security agencies, accusing them of working with the APC to rig the elections.
