The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has expressed its readiness to partner the Turkish Armed Forces to enhance capacity building for its personnel.

The chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, said the partnership would also promote mutually beneficial collaboration between the militaries of both countries.
The Nigerian Air Force boss made the statement during the visit of the new Defence Attachee (DA), Republic of Turkey, Group Captain Murat Selcuklu at NAF headquarters on Tuesday, November 14.
Abubakar said there are several potential areas of cooperation between Nigeria and Turkey which propted the opening of a Defence Section in Ankara.
The CAS congratulated Group Captain Selcuklu for being the first military attaché to be posted to Nigeria.

Earlier, the Defence Attache said he was delighted to be in Nigeria to improve the relationship between the Armed Forces of Nigeria and those of Turkey.
He advised the NAF to send a team to visit Turkey to see the capabilities of the country and discover more areas of collaboration.

Meanwhile, the presidency has debunked reports that the Nigerian military has suspended the admission of female candidates into the Nigerian Defence Academy as regular combatant officers.
In a tweet on Wednesday, November 15, the presidency through the Aso Rock official twitter handle said the reports on the suspension by the Nigerian military is false.
The presidency also said the report should be disregarded total as both men and women are equally eligible for all types of commissioning into the Nigerian Armed Forces.
